January Outing: Sing and Play at The Grantham Church

Hello Ladies! Our January outing will be held this Friday, January 22nd.
We will meet at the Grantham Brethren in Christ Church for their Sing and Play.
Sing and Play has two sessions per morning. We will meet for the 10:30 session.

Many of our members have taken their children to Sing and Play before and report that it's a great time! I've included some additional information from The Grantham Church Website below:

  • Six different play centers
  • Singing Circle with songs and activities
  • Friends
  • Space to move around

Please note: This is an indoor play setting for walking toddlers through pre-kindergarteners; adults will be expected to supervise and play with the children they bring.

Fridays from 9:30 AM - 10:15 AM & 10:30 AM - 11:15 AM,
Winter Session: January 15-March 19
Cost: $1 per session per family

Pre-schoolers and their favorite adult play partners are invited to the Fellowship Hall on Friday mornings for 45 minutes of fun!

WINTER WEATHER: If the Mechanicsburg School District has a delay or cancels
due to inclement weather, Sing & Play will NOT be held.

Looking forward to seeing everyone Friday!

Romp and Stomp

Romp and Stomp an open gym time for preschool age kids from 9:30-11:00am at First United Methodist. It's a great way for kids to expend some energy during these cold, cooped-up months!

Romp and Stomp is held on the following Fridays: January 15th, January 29th, February 5th, March 5th and March 19th.

All are welcome!

How DO I spend my time?

It was good to see everyone who ventured out in the snow this morning! And thank you to everyone who brought food- everything was delicious! I have located the "Hot Dish" list, but I may "lose" it again next month so that we get more yummy treats!

We missed those of you who couldn't make it, and we hope to see you soon!

Our January outing will be on Friday, January 22nd. We are finalizing details, and will be sure to get those out to the group soon.

Thanks to Becky for organizing our discussion this morning. I am encouraged to see that I am not the only one who feels like my "pie" is a bit lopsided some days. I am also encouraged to know that how we live is more important than what we do. The verse Becky read reminds us that God knows (and loves!) our hearts and wants us to live with intention.

So watch your step. Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times! Don't live carelessly, unthinkingly. Make sure you understand what the Master wants. (Ephesians 5: 15-17, The Message)

It is my prayer as we start 2010 (read: twenty-ten!), that each of us may know God's love for us and model that love for our children, our husbands, and all that we meet, in all the "peices of the pie" that make up our lives.

Children Learn What They Live
By Dorothy Law Nolte, Ph.D.

If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.

If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy.
If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.

If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.
If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.
If children live with acceptance, they learn to love.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal.

If children live with sharing, they learn generosity.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect.
If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them.
If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place in which to live.
